We had a really good day today. We went to the ZOO!!! There was a 60% chance of rain this afternoon, but we went anyway, figuring the crowds wouldn't be so bad if everyone thought it would rain. It did, but before we got to the park, so it just cooled down everything without raining on us for the 4 hours we were there. We rode the toy train around the whole of Hermann Park (across from our amazing medical center).
Then, after a bunch of wrong turns because the zoo map was L.A.M.E., we worked our way through the primates, the cats, the bears, elephants, giraffes, and the "cutest animal in the world" the red panda. He was really adorable, my picture doesn't do him justice.

At the gift shop, Sis bought a stuffed toy red panda (who is SO CUTE OMG), Mom got a neat African beaded necklace (which took forever to buy because the dude didn't know how to input a price into the computer register without being able to scan it. He ended up wasting over 10 minutes of our time going and tracking down the manager to double check the price. Idiot.), and I got a really neat necklace and a skein of wool. But not sheep wool - it' really woven camel hair, from the herding camels that belong to the nomadic tribes in Mongolia. The women spin the wool, and the profits go to help them and their families, and also save the habitat of the snow leopards (who are super endangered). You can check out their website at www.snowleopard.org. (My yarn is a nice berry/wine color, and it feels just about like real spun sheep wool... a little scratchy, but you know it'll be warm. I'm so excited to have really cool yarn with such a neat story to make in to a scarf I can use each winter. FYI, at the zoo, the skeins are only $10, online they're $20. If you want some, we can maybe work something out.)
Mom and I were planning on going to church in the morning, but we will probably both be too tired to wake up at 9:00am to be at church by 11. But it's a good tired. My body will ache tomorrow, but in a good "HOLY CRAP! I can't remember when the last time I walked so much!" way.
Enjoy the photos. I enjoyed taking them.
Ohh!! Also, I got a little bit of a tan, even while wearing 70spf sunblock. That tiny tiny bit of Cherokee blood in me keeps me from burning.
