Watching American Inventor. They're counting down the top 10 weirdest inventors from the auditions. They're showing the #5 "Walk Buddy" guy again who argues that his sawed-off pool cue is a "wand." He mentions a "loud, piercing sound" to ward of "dogs, coyotes, and such." A close-up of his science fair board shows that he spelled "piercing," "pearsing." Gotta love it.

As previously stated, I'm now going to start watching American Inventor. The people are just too good, and it'll be great making fun of the fact that Mary Lou (the only woman on the panel) cries at the ones that have even the vaguest of sob stories, yet calls Doug (the nerdy inventor guy) an asshole when he is supportive of a crazy therapist who wants to put our children in plastic tubes so they can have "tizzies." Not that I didn't agree with the "asshole" tag at that moment.

I'm adding The Loop, The Evidence, and now, dammit, also Doctor Who (thanks, SciFi for starting the series from the beginning for me tonight). Totally different genres, but all really good in their own ways. Most likely Ghost Hunters will also be added to this list once the new season starts.

I'm having a horrible scheduling issue next Wednesday at 8pm. Idol, Lost, L&O, and Criminal Minds all at the same time, and all new. Crap. Since I don't have two DVRs in my house, I think I'll probably record Lost and either L&O or Criminal Minds (I haven't decided which yet), and watch American Idol on the other TV in my house. Oh, decisions.

OMG. I cannot believe this show. It's like American Idol except, in some ways, even better. Some of these people are totally batshit crazy and have spent thousands of dollars proving it. Which trumps the AI normal of being batshit crazy and being just unable to sing to save your life.

I think I'm going to do a recap of this show for the three of you that read this. It's just too good not to. And it practically writes itself. God...that first dude, the one in the commercials who says "...and I relieve myself into the bag..." Yeah. Convinced me right then and there that I needed to preserve the weirdity (a word I created the other week in my own bout of batshittiness... it has been sent on to The Colbert Report for use as "The WORD" - similar to oddity but a little more strange) for posterity.
