How do you say "OMG" in Swedish?

WE'RE GETTING AN IKEA. Yeah. I know. I'm so exited! Tom on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy would put together absolutely fabulous places for people using Ikea furniture. We don't really have anywhere except Target or frickin' Wal-Mart that has okay furniture for an okay price at the moment. It'll be nice to have another place to go.

Okay. I looked at the website. Big mistake. Now I can't wait the year for the damn thing to be built. Look at this chair. That's a TV watchin' chair if I ever saw one. And it rocks. Like, it's a rocking chair. So. Awesome. I have a feeling I'm going to refurnish my house in fairly short order after this store opens. Which will actually be a good thing, since the furniture I have is getting grungy from the cats doing things like surprising me by puking on the ottoman while I'm gone.

Shopping Whee!!

Nothing helps depression like a little retail therapy. Finally had a little extra moolah to get a new pair of jeans. And, boy, did I need them. The pair I had are two (three?) years old and I'd ended up rubbing giant holes on the inside of both thighs. Ah, the life of someone with thick legs. So, anyway, found these at Lane Bryant. Oooh, they're so lovely. According to Mom, because my ego is not an accurate judge at the moment, I look skinnier and taller in these. Plus my butt looks good. Always a good thing. Wore them today for the first time and they're super-comfy. Just the right length, not too tight on my thighs, etc. Woo!

So you know how I've been craving that bag Jane Curtin had on Crumbs? Well, I found a bag I love at Wilson's Leather. I saw it while in the mall buying my jeans. I practically drooled on it. Couldn't buy it due to the price. (Am I the only one who will walk by a leather store and pop her head in just to sniff the new leather smell? Probably.) But... found this one on a whim trip to Payless today after my monthly pshrink visit today. Actually, the picture isn't quite the one I have, but it's similar. It's the same brown, but mine's real leather, and the pockets have buckles with hidden magnetic clasps instead. Still big enough to fit a hardback book, which is what I wanted. Best thing? It was on clearance: $10. And since the BOGO sale was going on, I also bought a pair of sneakers (mine are blue-grey and sooo comfortable) for $12, making the purse only $5. Total for sneakers and purse? $18 and change. I love a good deal.

Emery is happy today. And with the new meds, hopefully I'll be even happier soon. Whoopee!

ETA: Just showed Sis, and she concurs with Mom. So I know they do actually look good (not that I didn't believe Mom, I...just didn't fully believe her), because she tends to be brutally honest to the point of unintentional self-esteem massacre.

P.S. I know I'm a little link-happy in this post, but all of them will open in new windows for your viewing pleasure, FYI.

Must have

While catching up on recorded episodes of the new show Crumbs (you know, the one with Fred Savage), I saw Jane Curtin with the bag below. And I want it. Like, now. And I can't figure out who makes it, but I need it. If anyone has any insight, please lemme know.

BTW, the show's pretty cute. Not totally funny yet, but I don't mind it. I am giving it more time since it's still in the depressing back story exposition stage. Most shows don't totally hit their stride until the second season anyway. One that only took one episode for the exposition (and even though the topic was death they handled it very well and still with a lot of humor) was Four Kings on NBC. The comedic chemistry between those four fellas is hard to find most anywhere else. I'm glad the sitcom genre is coming back into its own after so much suckage.
